SORBOGEL VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL

Friday, December 11th, 1998

Kent, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc., the custom molder of Sorbothane, a viscoelastic material, introduces its new Sorbogel damping material.

Sorbothane Engineers have developed Sorbogel to meet the demand for new high technology damping systems. A major benefit of the material is its’ ability to isolate a system from unwanted vibration and resonance by lowering the natural frequency of the system.

Sorbothane is a material widely recognized for its excellent shock and vibration isolation characteristics. The material exhibits high damping properties over a broad temperature and frequency range. The materials unique properties make it ideal for applications including machinery that require both shock absorption and vibration control. It is clearly the material of choice for today’s demanding engineering specifications.

Kent, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc., the custom molder of Sorbothane, a viscoelastic material introduces its line of standard Leveling Mounts.

Sorbothane Engineers have developed a line of Leveling Mounts to provide precision leveling for light weight and heavy machinery. Another major benefit of the mounts are their ability to isolate a system from unwanted vibration and resonance by lowering the natural frequency of the system.

SOFT BLOW MALLET

Thursday, June 11th, 1998

KENT, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc., has custom-engineered a long-lasting, non-dent Soft-Blow mallet designed to replace conventional dead blow hammers and rubber mallets used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications.

Sorbothane, an energy absorbing viscoelastic polymer, can provide high impact absorption without denting. The Soft-Blow Mallet conforms to surface irregularities, providing maximum surface contact without marring.

Because impact is absorbed and dissipated within the Sorbothane material, the hand jarring and impact shock associated with conventional dead blow hammers is virtually eliminated.

In addition to low rebound, high energy absorption and excellent shock reduction, Sorbothane has faultless memory, which guarantees return to original shape, even after repeated impact. The Soft-Blow Mallet’s non-dent feature reduces secondary damage and repair time.

The mallet can be used on all types of surfaces and assemblies including hard and soft metals, glass, wood, or for any repair normally requiring a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet.

Ideal for a variety of applications, other Sorbothane properties include high mechanical damping, broad temperature range endurance, vibration isolation and energy absorption. It can be custom-molded to most any shape, color and size specifications.

SORBOTHANE ISOLATION MOUNTS IN RUGGEDIZED COMPUTERS

Saturday, April 11th, 1998

Kent, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc. expands its’ line of Isolation Mounts used extensively in the ruggedization of portable handheld electronics.

Sorbothane is a viscoelastic material widely recognized for its excellent shock and vibration isolation characteristics. A major benefit of the material is its’ ability to isolate unwanted energy by lowering the natural frequency of a system. Sorbothane also exhibits high damping properties over a broad temperature and frequency range. It is clearly the material of choice for today’s demanding engineering specifications.
