SORBOGEL VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL

Friday, December 11th, 1998

Kent, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc., the custom molder of Sorbothane, a viscoelastic material, introduces its new Sorbogel damping material.

Sorbothane Engineers have developed Sorbogel to meet the demand for new high technology damping systems. A major benefit of the material is its’ ability to isolate a system from unwanted vibration and resonance by lowering the natural frequency of the system. (more…)

LEVELING MOUNTS

Tuesday, August 11th, 1998

Kent, Ohio: Sorbothane, Inc., the custom molder of Sorbothane, a viscoelastic material introduces its line of standard Leveling Mounts.

Sorbothane Engineers have developed a line of Leveling Mounts to provide precision leveling for light weight and heavy machinery. Another major benefit of the mounts are their ability to isolate a system from unwanted vibration and resonance by lowering the natural frequency of the system.

Sorbothane is a material widely recognized for its excellent vibration and shock absorption characteristics. The material exhibits high damping properties over a broad temperature and frequency range. The materials unique properties make it ideal for applications including machinery that require both shock absorption and vibration isolation. It is clearly the material of choice for today’s demanding engineering specifications.

Sorbothane, Inc. has engineered a long-lasting, Soft-Blow mallet that actually conforms to surface irregularities, providing maximum surface contact without denting and marring. Designed to replace conventional dead blow hammers and rubber mallets, the Sorbothane® Soft-Blow Mallet can be used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications.

The Sorbothane® Soft-Blow Mallet is used extensively in the automotive assembly and repair industry along with the wood working trades. The mallet can be used on all types of surfaces and assemblies including hard and soft metals, glass, wood, or any repair requiring a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet. The Soft-Blow Mallet’s no-dent and non-marring features also reduce secondary damage and repair time. Also, because impact is absorbed and dissipated within the Sorbothane® material, hand jarring and harmful impact shock, associated with conventional dead blow hammers, is virtually eliminated.
