Position: Shipping/Receiving/Inventory

Work Week: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Supervisor: Plant Foreman

Scope of Position: Responsible pulling, packaging and shipping of orders via common Freight Carriers, UPS, FedEx, or other means as designated by customer. Receive all inbound Freight, such as production materials, return goods, office supplies, all other items received. Maintain warehouse area and finish goods inventory to ensure accuracy and prevent damage. In addition call for Freight Rates, print necessary shipping documents, schedule carrier pickups, and ensure all quality documents that are required for an order are completed. Perform other tasks as required by supervisor as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pick and verify items shipping out with accurate count, secure packaging, correct shipping labels, product labels with correct address and comparing to picking ticket.
• Ensure the quality of the packaging being used prevents damage of the product being shipped and the labels are placed in the same position on each box and if the quantity being shipped is on a pallet that all the product labels on the boxes are aligned and are facing out.
• Print all necessary shipping documents and schedule carrier pickups to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Received all inbound Freight and check vendor packing list against receiving documents, ensure the product received is placed in holding area until can be inspected to confirm the product is to specifications.
• Receive all Return Goods Authorized by Customer Service Representative and verify that the number of goods received match with the product and number of authorized then notify quality control.
• Place finish goods for inventory in the proper location in the warehouse and verify count.
• Filing and retention of documents of shipping documents for all out bound and in bound shipments.
• Place orders with production for standard stock items base on minimum and maximum levels as approved by President.
• Perform inventory counts monthly on finish goods in warehouse, production raw materials, and other products as required.
• Maintain an organized and clean warehouse, shipping and receiving area.
• As needed assist machine operators to run and package parts.
• Process all RX Sorbo orders to ensure they are shipped within 48 hours of receiving orders.
• Any other task as required by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma and 5 years of Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse experience.

Vibration suppression is the practice of using damping, isolation or a cancellation solution to reduce or eliminate vibrations that would otherwise result in loss of performance or limit the useful life of a system. Tackling the most challenging problems related to vibration suppression is what Sorbothane® was invented for. Its unique, liquid solid (Visco-elastic) properties make it the material of choice for vibration suppression and isolation pads and much more.

Damping. A common approach to vibration suppression is adding damping. Vibration damping dissipates some of the vibration energy by transforming it to heat. By selecting the right vibration damping material you can suppress or eliminate noise and vibration in industrial, electronic, structural and ergonomic applications caused by vibration and damaging resonance.

In a lightly damped system when the forcing frequency nears the natural frequency the amplitude (the maximum displacement of a vibrating particle or body from its position of rest) of the vibration can get extremely high. This phenomenon is called resonance and this is what we’re trying to suppress. If resonance occurs in a mechanical system it can be very harmful – leading to eventual failure of the system. (more…)

Vibration pads are used in many applications for isolating noise, prolonging machine life, reducing maintenance costs and reducing excessive wear and tear. Vibration pads can reduce damage to everything from equipment, structures and even the human body.

Vibration pads are also called vibration isolation pads which means that damaging energy is removed by the material and not transferred on to the machine or body. Vibration isolation is the process of isolating an object, such as a piece of equipment, from the source of damaging vibrations. What is damping?

Damping is the energy dissipation properties of a material or system under cyclical stress. It is the conversion of mechanical energy into thermal energy. The amount of energy dissipated is a measure of the material’s damping level.

How does vibration damping work?

Damping materials work by changing the natural vibration frequency of the vibrating surface and thereby lowering radiated noise and increasing the transmission loss of the material. Many applications and products are subject to vibration from internal, as well as external sources.
