What Can an Isolation Pad Do For Your Business?

Saturday, December 25th, 2010

Isolation pad 2400What is this new pad and just what does it do for business?  Our isolation pads are made from a type of visco-elastic polymer called Sorbothane.  This thermoset material provides protection against friction, heavy vibration and shock.  In addition to providing protection through strength of material, the our isolation pads also combine shock absorption, memory, and vibration damping.  Whereas many products similar to this offer one or the other, our Isolation Pads are unique in that they include all features in one product.

This product also has a durable life and a wide temperature range, reaching beyond 160° Fahrenheit.  The pads themselves are not made from fluid derivative substances or foam, unlike many other inferior quality pads.  These absorbent materials can support huge and dangerous machinery for a countless number of cycles. What can Equipment Vibration Isolation do for Industrial Businesses

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

equipment vibration isolation 170What is equipment Vibration Isolation?  This refers to using a pad that works as a shock absorber.  Our particular pad uses Sorbothane technology.  The technology for vibration isolation is visco-elastic polymer.  It is polyether-based polyurethane material.  It has both visco-elastic properties as well as high damping coefficient properties.

This product not only offers basic shock absorption but also excellent memory.  In fact, this product combines several technologies into one pad, one with an exceptionally long life.  It is superior to liquid or foam based products, since it can be used literally millions of times.  Our equipment Vibration Isolation pad can also dissipate kinetic energy.

The pad not only absorbs the shock but also prevents heavy machine parts from “creeping” or walking beyond a set point.  These pads can take extremely high impacts, from manufacturing lines.  The basic technology is similar to what we use in creating athletic wear, but models like the equipment Vibration Isolation 170 model can absorb far more impact for industrial purposes. What Is an Anti Vibration System and Why Should I Select It?

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

anti vibration system 170The Sorbothane Anti Vibration System refers to a highly advanced shock absorbent system.  Though originally used in the creation of athletic wear, the technology advanced to the point where even heavy machinery can be controlled in terms of noise and impact.

Many people don’t realize it but whenever you have a huge industrial set up with hard-hitting parts you compromise the entire operation.  You spend lots of money on maintenance and buying new machinery.  This is because the constant vibration and noise affect the environment.  Not only can the powerful impact affect the parts themselves but they can also cause injury to employees, damage the floor, and contribute to lost time on the production line.

This specific Anti Vibration System is made using Sorbothane, which is a visco-elastic polymer.  It is unique in that it combines the best features of viscous technologies and elastic technologies.  This material has been used by NASA and was even used to transport the legendary Liberty Bell.  In 2003, this bell was transported 935 feet from its former place to the new Liberty Bell Pavilion.

A specially designed pad-carriage (isolation mounts) supported this transfer.  The purpose of using the anti vibration isolators was to resist and shock or vibration that could potentially damage the piece or hurt nearby passersby.  The Sorbothane Anti Vibration System pads can be customized to your preference. Isolating Vibration

Isolating VibrationWhat can Isolating Vibration do for you and your products?  Isolation vibration is a technology to protect high-tech products, such as electronic devices, lighting and various other applications.  The base technology is similar to shocks, the type of applications made for athletes and people who buy orthopedic devices.  The same technology we have used to protect human beings can also protect delicate electronic, glass and fragile parts.

The technology used to isolate vibration is from Sorbothane, a unique visco-elastic polymer.  Though developed in the early 1980s, the technology has improved and products like our vibration pads can now be used to absorb energy in many ways.  For example, this type of technology was used for NASA launches, so that a camera could be protected.  Another example is that the Liberty Bell was moved using special pads for isolating vibration. Tumble Free without Injury

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

energy absorbing materialBecause gymnastics is a sport that primarily is enjoyed by young people, it’s of no real surprise that safety is rule number one. Young gymnasts are often plagued by injuries due to the risky nature of the sport, and the constant impact damage to the arms, legs, feet, and back can cause a lifetime of physical suffering and total removal from the sport, regardless of how much the child may enjoy it. This is why it’s so important for gymnasiums to have mats with a high make up of energy absorbing material.

The quality of the gymnastic mats is of top concern because gymnasts spend so much time training, which increases the possibility of injury. With the addition of proper gymnastic mats made of proper energy absorbing material, however, injuries to the gymnast can be lessened, if not eliminated completely. The quality of the gymnastics mat and its ability to prevent bodily damage depends on several factors, including its thickness, the materials it is made of, and how it is used.  (more…)

Ship it Safely with Vibration Impact Reduction

shock isolatorIt is not enough in the business of product manufacturing to simply create a useful product and find vendors who wish to sell it to consumers. The product not only needs to be made well and live up to the standards of the retailer and consumer, but of course the product needs to arrive on time and in pristine condition. The promise of a quality product arriving consistently in solid condition with little to no breakage in shipping will assure that your customers will continue to make your product in demand.

Clearly, it is imperative for manufacturers of any product on the market that the shipping containers that are used to escort said product from the manufacturing facility to the merchant or contractor provide safe protection against the inevitable impacts that occur during the all-important process of product transport. New shock isolators that can be added to shipping pallets can now ensure the safe passage of your product to its desired destination. (more…)

Run Safe – Buy a Running Shoe with Shock Absorbing Padding

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

shock absorbing paddingIt’s widely known that running is one of the most valuable and simple exercises to assure overall body health. If you have chosen to run for your health, it’s important, however, that you know all the details on how to run safely to assure that you maximize the benefits and minimize the risks. The impact of running on city streets can wreck havoc on your feet, ankles and knees, and assuring that you are wearing shoes with shock absorbing padding to reduce the impact of running on asphalt.

Sneakers with insoles manufactured specifically for running are made for the purpose of protecting your feet and knees from all high impact activities, such as walking, running, and track and field events. The pressure on your lower extremities increases by large amounts during physical activity, creating a scenario where injury to the legs, knees, or back become very common.  If the shoes you are wearing during these activities do not feature shock absorbing padding to provide you with enough cushion, you run the risk of injury and are likely to find yourself uncomfortable while exercising. Alicia Sacramone won the vault title at the 2010 World Gymnastics Championships.  Sacramone won the Gold Medal with a 15.200, the average of her two vaults.  She is just the second U.S. woman to win the world vault title. Alicia’s career world medal total is now 9.  According to USA Gymnastics, she is now tied with Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin as the U.S. women with the most world medals.

“I am glad to be back representing the U.S.,” said Alicia, a member of the 2008 Olympic Silver Medal Team. “To walk away like I did after the Olympics, with so many injuries and being disheartened…it’s nice to set my mind to something, work hard and come back and get a big reward for all the work I’ve done. It makes it worthwhile” (more…)
