Alicia Sacramone won the vault title at the 2010 World Gymnastics Championships.  Sacramone won the Gold Medal with a 15.200, the average of her two vaults.  She is just the second U.S. woman to win the world vault title. Alicia’s career world medal total is now 9.  According to USA Gymnastics, she is now tied with Shannon Miller and Nastia Liukin as the U.S. women with the most world medals.

“I am glad to be back representing the U.S.,” said Alicia, a member of the 2008 Olympic Silver Medal Team. “To walk away like I did after the Olympics, with so many injuries and being disheartened…it’s nice to set my mind to something, work hard and come back and get a big reward for all the work I’ve done. Dr. Mendeszoon is a Board Certified podiatrist who treats all surgical and non-surgical conditions of the leg, foot and ankle. He is a Sports Medicine Specialist, team doctor at local high schools and team consultant to numerous colleges. A graduate of Harvard Medical School’s Deaconess Hospital, Dr. Mendeszoon is a former collegiate track athlete and currently an avid runner.
