Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association Effects of Cushioned Insoles on the Impact Forces During Running

clip_image002.jpgAn original article, studying the effects cushioned insoles have in reducing impact forces during running, was published in the January/February 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Test subjects performed five running trials with a running shoe only and five running trials with the running shoe and a Sorbothane® shock absorbing insole. The results showed that the use of the Sorbothane® cushioned insoles during running significantly reduced peak impact force compared to the shoe-only condition.

Sorbothane® is the only insole material that absorbs up to 94.7% of impact shock. Unlike standard insole materials, which can bottom out and lose effectiveness, Sorbothane® never waivers under any conditions. Durable and comfortable, Sorbothane® performance insoles retain their orthotic benefits and shock absorbing properties month after month. Lightweight and antifungal, they also breathe, which makes for a much cooler insole.

Sorbothane® insoles have been highly recommended by doctors, sports medicine specialists and professional trainers for decades. Sorbothane® insoles have proven to be the best defense against foot pain, back pain and impact-related injuries such as Achilles tendonitis, runner’s knee and shin splints.
